Eniram Ltd. is shortlisted for Sustainable Shipping Awards 2010
May 24, 2010Eniram Ltd. announced today it has been shortlisted for the Sustainable Shipping Awards 2010, with its Dynamic Trimming Assistant (DTA) product.
The Sustainable Shipping awards are a meaningful mark of recognition of environmental excellence in shipping. The awards celebrate the efforts that are being made to address and improve the environmental legacy of the shipping industry. Eniram are shortlisted in the ‘Environmental Technology of the Year Award' category.
Eniram Ltd. provides dynamic decision support systems to the owners and operators of large commercial vessels, including cruise ships, freight vessels and tankers. Eniram's flagship product, Dynamic Trimming Assistant, helps vessel crew optimize trim at all times, minimizing water resistance, decreasing fuel consumption, and reducing emissions. By bringing real-time data of the vessel attitude to ship's officers in an easy-to-read graphic form, the Eniram DTA facilitates faster and better informed decision-making and allows timely action in changing circumstances.
"We are delighted with this nomination", said Philip Padfield, CEO, Eniram Group. "We have been working for environmentally friendlier seafaring for years. With DTA many of our customers are saving over 1,000 tons of fuel per year - and that means 3,000 tons lower carbon emissions per year, which is about the same emissions as 1,000 cars. The nomination demonstrates that our approach is really addressing the big issues in the industry - both today, and in the future."
The final winner in each category of the Sustainable Shipping Awards will be selected by the judges in London on 24th June 2010. Eniram's decision support systems are designed by a team of marine system experts, software architects, programmers, naval architects and captains creating a unique combination of expertise. The Finland-based Eniram has subsidiaries in Fort Lauderdale, US and London, UK.
