Eniram goes Science: hierarchical vessel models, probabilistic weather forecasts and stochastic optimization

The goal of the project, titled IIDA-MARI, is to develop novel mathematical techniques for understanding marine vessels by combining data sources of varying fidelity using hierarchical Bayesian modelling principles. In addition, the project scope covers techniques for better utilisation of probabilistic weather forecasts in vessel performance optimization and also methods for calibrating weather forecasts with vessel data to improve forecast accuracy.

The project belongs to the ICT 2023 program, coordinated by the Academy of Finland and Tekes, and starts in the beginning of 2018.
